Video Depth Map

Turn any clip into a depth map video, frame by frame and without flicker. Use it for 2D to 3D conversion, VR, depth-of-field effects and compositing.

What is a video depth map?

A video depth map is a second video that shows how far everything in your clip is from the camera, frame by frame. Near things are bright, far things are dark. Pobzy uses Video Depth Anything, a model built for video, so the depth stays steady from one frame to the next instead of flickering.

What is a video depth map?

What you can do with it

  • Convert 2D footage to side-by-side 3D for Quest, Vision Pro and other VR players.
  • Fake a shallow depth of field in Premiere, DaVinci Resolve or After Effects.
  • Add fog, haze or color grades that fade with distance.
  • Place titles and graphics between the foreground and the background.
  • Restyle a video with AI while keeping its shapes, using depth as the guide.

How to make one

  1. 1

    Upload your clip

MP4 or MOV, up to 40 seconds. You see the cost before anything is charged.

  2. 2

    Pick a look

Grayscale for editing software, or a color map like Turbo to see depth at a glance.

  3. 3

    Download the depth video

You get an MP4 with the same frame rate as your clip.

Tips for a clean result

  • Steady shots with a clear foreground give the sharpest depth.
  • Trim the clip to the part you need. You pay per second.
  • Use grayscale if your editor reads the map as a matte or a mask.

Questions

How much does a video depth map cost?

10 credits per started second of video. A 10-second clip costs 100 credits. The exact cost shows up after you upload, before you start.

Which video formats and lengths work?

MP4 and MOV files up to 40 seconds and 90 MB. If your file is longer, trim it first.

Will the depth map flicker?

Much less than running an image model on each frame. The model looks at neighboring frames, so depth stays consistent across the clip.

Grayscale or color map?

Grayscale is what editing and 3D software expect. Color maps such as Turbo or Inferno are easier to read with your eyes and look good in a breakdown video.

Can I use the result in commercial work?

Yes. The depth maps you make are yours to use, including in client and commercial projects. See the Terms of Service for details.

What if a job fails?
